Creative Platforms – Field Research / Reflection

The first task for Creative Platforms was to go through a bit of a list of questions and figure out what the industry would require of me. below is that list.

  • Research – What Industry?

Video game development, preferably AA development.

  • What Role in that industry?

(Technical) Sound Designer, a mix between audio design and audio system creation

  • What content do you already have? what are you planning over the coming year that can be included?

https://www.roywilmer.com/ has some content worth considering though it is outdated and there is an updated version of the Ragnarok project that I still need to include. During my time at Portsmouth I will be creating another piece for my portfolio during the Create Worlds course and the Sound for moving Image course.

  • Industry experience? Get a placement sorted and contacts to gain feedback on your work.

I have contacts with Jonathan van Wijngaarden (current composer/sound designer) and when my portfolio is more presentable I intend to start setting up proper contact with Digital extremes and Studio Gobo.

Reflection

In the video below I talk about some of the points that I wasn’t able to put in the other videos as well as the SWOT analysis and how it relates to how I will be improving myself and this website/branding in the future. The video itself is simply a screen shot that I talk over as I didn’t feel that any video I had fit the topic
